Hello, My name is Ron and I am the founder of OmahaSeeds.com as well as the Applewood Park Garden Association.  (APGA)

Last year I sold seeds under the email name of seedsavers, omahaplants and Omahaseeds.  I have decided to settle on Omahaseeds from here forward.

Most of the seeds sold here are heirloom seeds I have grown and collected myself or have had donated by friends, relatives and neighbors.  I will be adding new seed as I can get them in stock.  My niece has promised me some Winter Hardy Hibiscus and I will let you know when they get here.

The purpose of selling seeds last year was for the building of my indoor greenhouse and that was accomplished thanks to the many wonderful gardeners out there looking for not only garden seeds and plants but also a non-corporate, friendly place to find garden seeds.  This year and going forward the purpose of the seed selling is to partially fund a community garden in Applewood Park in Omaha. A portion of every sale is going towards this goal.

The Parks and Recreation office will allow a garden only if we have a company in place and service paid for that would return the garden to it's former weed and crabgrass state if it were no longer being taken care of.  My family and I have taken care of the park - planting flowers, cleaning the playground sand and leaving toys for the kids for over 2 years - this is the next step in that hobby.  See more info under the "Donate to APGA" button.

As you can tell from the "free" website, we are on a shoestring budget and nothing fancy goes on here.  We do guarantee our seeds and want everyone to be happy. 

In the past on Craigslist we have only accepted cash and a SASE.  This way is still accepted (omahaseeds@yahoo.com) but you now have the option of using Paypal and adding the shipping charges to the bill.
